How to interpret your results

Your monthly repayment is the amount you will pay your bank each month assuming a variable interest rate at the rate you entered. Total interest shows the true cost of the loan over its full term — often more than the purchase price itself for longer terms.

  • Interest rate is fixed for the full loan term. In practice, SA home loans are variable and move with the prime rate.
  • Bond registration costs are estimates based on typical attorney fee scales. Actual costs vary by attorney.
